Dylan caught his first brown trout on the fabled waters of Michigan’s Pere Marquette River at the age of 10. He instantly fell in love with the beauty of Michigan’s trout species and the meditative properties which fly fishing offers. His fly fishing philosophy is very laid back… and his only “rule” is to have a good time.
When he’s not on the river, he is playing music and jammin’ with friends. To Dylan, music and fly fishing draw similar parallels… the rhythm of the river and grace of a fly rod are some of life’s most sublime experiences. He feels blessed to be able to facilitate these experiences and to spark lifelong passions in people new to the sport of fly fishing.
Dylan is a conservationist at heart and cares deeply about the environment. After graduating from Central Michigan University with a degree in Outdoor Environmental Recreation, Environmental Policy & Sustainable Management, he worked for Trout Unlimited as an intern and continues to advocate on behalf of cold-water fisheries.
Dylan’s easy-going teaching style and down-to-earth personality make him an excellent teacher for anglers of all skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner that’s self-conscious of tangles, or a veteran who appreciates knots and nets, Dylan will show you a great time on the water.
