Principal Guide
Greg joined the Boyne Outfitters crew in 2013... after a nearly ten-year sabbatical from the industry in order to focus on one of the most important things in life - family. He has been an asset ever since. Greg's experience stems from guiding for Streamside Orvis in Traverse City, as well as the former Whipporwill Orvis of Petoskey, where he learned the Northern Michigan waters and fine-tuned his skills with a fly rod. He even sports a handmade McKenzie-style drifter which he floats on our home waters.
Greg loves the lyrical side of angling, where he has had works featured in Fly Rod & Reel, Gray's Sporting Journal, and Sporting Classics to name a few. He has also co-authored two books - Northwest of Someplace and Another Day Afield: Hunting, Fishing and the Places They Lead Us. During the off-season, Greg teaches elementary education, and consequently, his patience and teaching abilities truly shine through in his guiding.
Greg lives in Petoskey with his wife and two daughters.
